m. allen boat works a premier builder of cedar strip boats, located in South West Michigan. Michael Nosko owner/craftsman has over 30 years experience in wood working, project design and construction and has now put this experience to use as a canoe/boat builder.
Our signature canoe is the 18 ft cruiser, it has a 34 in beam, flat bottom, 2 seats, featuring 2 thwarts and an center carrying yoke. We use a 5.6 oz. fiberglass cloth with 3 coats of epoxy resin inside and out and 3 coats of spar varnish. The special skid proof bottom and accent strips on the sides have been a hit with customers. The gunwales, deck boards, thwarts and seats are typically white ash but customers have a choice of hardwood.
We will custom design a canoe or row boat to meet your boating style and technique, from the length and width, rocker style to the bow line. We will even make the strip layout appealing to your eye.
